If there's one thing Trey Songz believes in, it's adhering to a formula. The R&B crooner has found his niche in creating songs for the bedroom, and on Friday night (July 6), the Atlantic Records artist performed his newest slow jam for the crowd at the Essence Music Festival in New Orleans.

The track, "Dive In," is the next single from his upcoming album, Chapter V. The highly suggestive lyrics encouraged a few screams from the women in attendance: "I'll just keep my head down... I'm 'bout to dive in, go under just for you."

It wasn't long before the singer shed his blazer in favor of a simple white tee and raw denims. He moved into some of his more innocuous material, including 2010's "Can't Be Friends" and this summer's "Heart Attack."

After blazing through his chart-climbing track "Sex Ain't Better Than Love," Trey teased the crowd: "You know what? Although that may be true, I got another song I wanna do." He tore through his career-changing smash hit "I Invented Sex" to the delight of his fans. By the middle of his set, Trey had taken off his tee and his undershirt. He again revisited his more unassuming singles: "Can't Help But Wait" and "I Need A Girl."

Gliding seamlessly between sweet and sexy for 30 minutes straight, Trey Songz proved once again that he can win on either side of the bedroom door.
