Atlanta-based trio Travis Porter spent the past few years on the independent grind, releasing heralded mixtapes that put them on the unsigned map. But after climbing the ladder near the top of the underground food chain, Strap, Quez and Ali are ready to take their career to the next level with the announcement that they have signed to Jive Records to release their official debut.

"After 2 years of negotiations ... We have decided to take our talents to JIVE RECORDS," wrote the group on their collective Twitter page. "Dedication ... Determination ... it all pays off u just gotta have patience."

The group worked out a deal to release tracks and albums with Jive in conjunction with Power House Entertainment. Though the major label features a roster with superstar urban acts including Chris Brown, Usher and Ciara, Travis Porter is now one of the few rap acts on the imprint, joining the ranks of Too Short, GS Boyz and T-Pain.

TP is currently seeing success with their single "Make It Rain," which currently sits at No. 44 on the Billboard Hip-Hop and R&B Songs & Singles chart. The trio spent most of the summer and fall on the road, performing an average of four gigs a week while traveling across the United States.
