Rapper Tone Loc spent Father's Day behind bars after he was arrested for domestic abuse Saturday (June 19) afternoon.

According to reports, the rapper and his child's mother were involved in a heated altercation, which ended with him begin taken into custody. A source confirmed to TMZ that Loc, born Anthony Smith, was arrested at an apartment in Burbank, Calif., around 2:45PM, on suspicions of felony domestic violence for assaulting the woman.

The raspy-voiced rapper, a native of Los Angeles, is best known for his hits 'Funk Cold Medina' and 'Wild Thing.' Aside from his musical career, he has also found success as a voice actor, lending his vocals to several cartoon characters. In 1994, he landed a gig voicing the animatronic character Fud Wrapper on the show 'Food Rock,' which ran at Disney's Epcot center until 2004.

He hasn't released an album since 1991's 'Cool Hand Loc,' but provided vocals on the song 'Rock It 'Til You Drop It,' off singer FeFe Dobson's self-titled debut in 2003. His music has also found its way to the big screen, appearing on the 2004 soundtrack for 'Ace Ventura: Pet Detective ' and 'Ace Ventura Jr: Pet Detective' in 2009.

Loc is currently being held on $50,000 bail.
