The Atlanta Newscasters Who Honored Phife Are at it Again, Pay Tribute to Biggie [WATCH]
Clearly, Atlanta news anchors Fred Blankenship and Mark Arum are one of us, meaning they're part of the global hip-hop community.
Why? Because last March they did a live-on-air tribute to Phife Dawg when he passed away by incorporating some of his lyrics into their script, and today (March 9) they did the same thing for The Notorious B.I.G.
To honor the Brooklyn legend on the 20th anniversary of his death, Blankenship and Arum got pretty creative when speaking about the local traffic.
"If you don't know, now you know," said Blankenship, borrowing a line from "Juicy." Then Arun followed suit. "Birthdays were the worst days," he said.
With the one-year-anniversary of Phife's death approaching on March 22, it's possible that the hip-hop newscasters will honor him again, but for now you can watch their short Biggie tribute above.
