Fox 4 News Kansas City is reporting that a gunman fired into a stranded vehicle with four women inside, killing 25-year-old Maryanna Pennington and injuring the three others. Authorities believed the women’s vehicle was broken down due to a broken front axle. The women had called for help.

A suspect has been arrested in the shooting. Deandre M. Jackson, of Raytown, Mo., was charged with 2nd degree murder, unlawful use of a weapon, three counts of 1st degree assault and five counts of armed criminal action. The 24-year-old is currently in custody on $500,000 cash bond.

Eyewitnesses, as well as the surviving victims, were able to identify Jackson as the shooter. Apparently, Jackson had been fighting with one of the victims earlier that day.
