Hats off to Target for pulling what, if taste were no issue, would surely have been a hot item. As numerous sites have reported, the retailer will no longer sell a greeting card that mocks Whitney Houston and her troubled relationship with Bobby Brown, the man many blame for introducing her to drugs and therefore causing her untimely death.

"Next time you think of dating the bad boy, consider Whitney Houston," reads the card, which was available in stores before the singer's death on Feb. 11. "That's all I'm going to say."

"As soon as this was brought to our attention, we began the process of removing the card from all applicable stores," a rep from Target said in a statement.

With the offending merchandise removed, Target now has more shelf space for birthday cards whose comparatively innocent goal is to make aging friends and loved ones chuckle about their declining health, appearance and sexual prowess.
