After years of countless reality-based talent shows like 'American Idol' and 'X Factor,' Sway and Crooked I are coming together to present a new music competition centered on hip-hop, 'One Shot.'

Sway and Crooked I announced their partnership -- along with DJ King Tech and SMH Records CEO Mike Smith -- on Monday (Sept. 29) during 'Sway in the Morning' on Sirius XM. “This right here is to provide a platform for hip-hop, for us," the Slaughterhouse MC told listeners. "If you’re an up and coming artist, I had the same struggle. I had the same everything you got. I’m just like you. This is for us. Strictly hip-hop.”

The four-man crew will travel around the country to cities like Charlotte, Atlanta, Miami, New York, Chicago, Houston, San Francisco and Los Angeles to judge the auditions and select the rap MVPs special enough to move on to the next level. The best part is each city will be surprised with a celebrity guest judge to help make things a little more interesting.

The final four will get together for a lyrical showdown in a major city where fans will get to help determine if they've got what it takes. Ultimately, hip-hop's next big superstar will win a recording contract with SMH Records and $100,000.

Journalists Kim Osorio and Kathy Iandoli will also interview each contestant to showcase their story and inspiration, which viewers will get to see.

Rappers, aspiring MCs and wannabe lyricists can get more information and download one of many instrumentals to use for their submission here.

Remember, you only get one shot. So make it count.
