Atlanta-based producer Shawty Redd turned himself in to police this weekend, after shooting and killing a man in his Hampton, Ga. home.

According to reports, Redd, born Demetrius Stewart, was in his home with the man, early on New Year's Day (read: late night NYE), when the two got into an argument and the unidentified man physically threatened the producer, who proceeded to retrieve a firearm and shoot and kill him.

Redd then contacted the authorities and turned himself in to Henry County Police. No bond has been set.

Shawty Redd is known for having helmed club favorites like Snoop Dogg's 'Sexual Seduction,' Young Jeezy's 'Hypnotize' and Gucci Mane's 'Trap House,' as well as several recent strip club anthems of his own.
