Hundreds of thousands of people are expected to gather in Washington D.C. for the Women's March on Washington on Saturday (Jan. 21). The grass-roots movement in D.C., as well as affiliated marches across the nation and around the world, will protest the newly incumbent President Donald Trump and champion the support for women's rights everywhere.

Among the artists who are supporting the the event include Janelle Monae, Questlove and Maxwell. R&B sensation Sevyn Streeter is also supportive of the global rallies and feels it’s very important as people continue to express fear and optimism under the Trump presidency.

"I think it's uplifting and it's motivating and I think it's amazing. And we all need a little bit of that," she told ABC Radio. "It's a women's march, but any bit of positivity and that type of energy that we can put out right now, in our country, is much needed."

Beyonce also showed her support for the global Women’s March via Facebook, saying, “We raise our voices as mothers, as artists, and as activists. As #GlobalCitizens, we can make our voices heard and turn awareness into meaningful action and positive change."
