Scarface suffered an embarrassing moment at the taping of the 2015 BET Hip Hop Awards when he was arrested for unpaid child support after accepting his I Am Hip Hop honor. The veteran rhymer has been released from jail and now has issued a statement regarding the unfortunate incident.

The statement reads:

"First and foremost I would like to thank my supporters for their concern during my recent arrest in Atlanta. While we have resolved the issue I would like to correct some misinformation. The amount reported that was owed is inaccurate and I had no knowledge about there being an arrest order for me as I have traveled to Atlanta many times; with the latest trip being in September to perform at the One Music Festival. Due to the nature of the case (having a minor child involved), I will make no further comment at this time."

While the Geto Boys founder did not specify the amount he owed his child's mother, the rapper is moving forward with his touring gigs. Scarface has a scheduled concert in Dallas, TX, on Nov. 21.

Scarface was honored with the I Am Hip Hop Awards at the star-studded event, which aired on BET last week. The 44-year-old rapper didn’t write an acceptance speech and just chose to wing it instead.

“I think this is rigged,” he said. “I appreciate all the cool s--- but none of that is true. I am not an icon...I’m lying.”

“I know too many of y’all and there’s too many of y’all to name. From start to finish, I appreciate y’all. Seriously. I said it before and I’ll say it again. I ain’t s--- without y’all," he finished.
