In the age of album sequels, Royce da 5'9" is the latest emcee to hop on the bandwagon. The Detroit rapper has announced plans to follow up his 2004 independent release 'Death Is Certain' with a sequel of sorts, renaming the LP 'Success Is Certain.'

"It ol be Death is certain part 2 but the word Death will be crossed out and under it will be Success.. Sooo.. 'Success is Certain' 2011,' announced Nickel Nine on his Twitter page. "A whole lot of introspective records. Not a lot of 'Gun Talk' on this one ... It will be classic."

Royce originally released his sophomore album 'Death Is Certain' in February 2004, charting at No. 5 on the Billboard Independent Albums chart and No. 39 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. The gritty LP featured production from DJ Premier on the lead single 'Hip Hop,' with additional beats courtesy of Ty Fyffe, 6 July, Asar, Reef and Mark Bassin.

He most recently dropped his fourth album 'Street Hop' in October 2009, with the effort becoming his highest charting release to date (No. 110 on Billboard 200). As one-fourth of the super group Slaughterhouse, Royce da 5'9" found the best success of his career, with their self-titled LP dropping at 25 on the Billboard 200 and selling more than 50,000 copies.
