You might know Rotimi as the sinister gangster on 50 Cent’s hit drama Power, but the 26-year-old singer has a romantic side to him. He showcases his love for the opposite sex on his new mixtape, Royal Wednesday.

The nine-song project boasts original songs as well as his G-Unit collabo with his boss 50 Cent on “Lotto.” Rotimi also re-works Drake’s ubiquitous chart-topping single, “Hotline Bling.” On the track, he recounts his romantic rendezvous with his first love amid her parents' failed attempts to block their daughter from dating him.

Other highlights on the mixtape include “I Know,” where the crooner promises that his love is satisfaction guaranteed. On “Living Foul,” he sings of heartbreak and pain after catching his lady doing some shady things behind his back. "You use to call me babe / Now you got nothing to say / We used to talk everyday / But now, you just texting a n---- / Just keep it 100 with me / Is there another man, I don't understand," he sings.

In an interview with The Boombox, Rotimi says that juggling his acting with his singing career has been challenging, but in the end, it will help him become an all-round entertainer.

“Being a growing entertainer, period, you’re going to always have struggles," he says. "I’m still trying to learn how to even perform right onstage. Or I’m still trying to learn how to execute a scene in maybe three and not five takes and I’m a perfectionist when it comes to it."

"It’s always a challenge," he continues. "I feel like just hard work - not to sound cliche - really hard work and spending time on your craft it becomes easier and easier."
