An aspiring rapper believed to be an associate of Rick Ross, was shot and killed at his home near Miami on Tuesday (Dec. 14). Raymond Adderly Jr., 25, was returning from a Christmas party last night when he became the victim of a home invasion in the 8300 block of Sherman Circle in Miramar, Fla. The intruders shot and killed Adderly while his wife and children were nearby, before fleeing the scene by car.

Although it is unclear why he was targeted, police officials believe that the shooting was no coincidence. "We do not believe this was a random act, so someone out there knows something," said Tania Rues, of the Miramar police department. "We do know there are multiple suspects. They approached the homeowner, as he was approaching the residence."

Relatives of Adderly noted that he was father to three sons, ages 3, 5, and 7. "We're in shock," Adderly's brother-in-law Gentry Chamber told local news station WSVN Channel 7. "It's awful. It's awful my nephews and sister have to go through this during the holidays."

A neighbor, Rodnika Beasluy, told reporters that Adderly worked in the music industry and had ties to Ross. "[They were] like best friends," she said. But the status of the victim's relationship with Ross has not been confirmed yet.

Anyone with information about the shooting are encouraged to contact Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS (8477).
