Chicago rapper Noname dropped a mixtape, Telefone, this past July. Fans are loving it and have been anxious for more. But they may be waiting forever--considering the talented MC took to her Facebook on Sunday (Oct.2) to announce this might be her last tape.

Noname has yet to explain her Facebook post.

Telefone took Noname three years to create, and if it is indeed her last tape, we're pretty positive fans and critics will be talking about her unfulfilled potential for years to come. But looking deeper into the post, she could just mean last mixtape. That may not include an actual album or features on other artists projects. The 25-year-old rapper has appeared on several songs with Chance The Rapper for years now. So features may be a realistic assumption moving forward. In the meantime, Noname has been doing spot dates in the states and will embark on a European tour later this month.

Regardless of what Noname decides to do with her music career, this won't be the end of her. In a recent interview with The Fader, she stated that she was more than a musician, and her name reflects her unwillingness to remain inside the box.

“I try to exist without binding myself to labels. I’m not really into labels at all, even the way I dress; I usually don’t wear anything with a name brand,” Noname told the magazine. “For me, not having a name expands my creativity. I’m able to do anything. Noname could potentially be a nurse, Noname could be a screenwriter. I’m not limited to any one category of art or other existence, on a more existential level.”
