During a recent appearance on Hot 97’s Ebro in the Morning, Queen Latifah stopped by and had a lot to say about today’s rappers.

While promoting her new film Girl’s Trip, the conversation shifted to modern hip-hop. While the rapper turned actress praised the culture, saying, “To me, hip-hop is back,” she did have some harsh words about today’s artists.

“A lot of rapper’s lost their balls,” she said. “They got soft. Like, when things are going on in the world, like [Donald] Trump or elections, this was the stuff we chewed on. Or how much heroin — people addicted to heroin [there is]. Where’s the flip-side to Molly Percocet? Well the flip-side is that you’re missing out on life, you sleep, you crash your car. I’m not judging either way. I’m just saying it’s always good to have both those sides.”

Although Queen Latifah's comments may upset some rappers, the actress clearly has love other rappers as she recently appeared on stage with Remy Ma, Young M.A, Lil Kim and more during Remy’s Summer Jam performance.
