Rap fans familiar with A Tribe Called Quest know that the illustrious hip-hop group hailed from Queens, N.Y., and rapped about a particular street, Linden Boulevard, on “Check the Rhyme.” Recently, an online petition was launched to have Linden Boulevard renamed in honor of ATCQ and the late rapper Phife Dawg.

The online petition, created by Tee Smith of the Hip-Hop Discussion Group, is requesting that New York City councilmembers I. Daneek Miller and Melissa Mark-Viverito rename a block of Linden Blvd. to A Tribe Called Quest Boulevard.

So far, over 2,000 supporters have digitally signed the petition out of a goal of 5,000 signatures.

Meanwhile, fellow ACTQ member Jarobi White wants to see several public areas in Queens, N.Y. renamed in honor of Phife Dawg. White went on his Facebook page and shared a wish list of places including having St. Albans Park renamed Malik Taylor Park. Phife Dawg's real name is Malik Issac Taylor.

White posted a link to that petition.

In addition, White went on his Twitter account to thank all of the fans who have sent condolences and well-wishes to him and the rest of the ACTQ members. You can read his tweets below.
