Petey Pablo to Turn Himself in for Recent Gun Charge
Timbaland collaborator Petey Pablo is expected to turn himself in today, after a warrant was issued for his arrest.
The North Carolina rapper was indicted by a grand jury for attempting to smuggle a a Smith & Wessun 9MM pistol, along with ammunition, onto a plane at Raleigh-Durham International Airport this past September 11, en route to the 2010 MTV Music Video Awards in Los Angeles. A representative for Pablo said that the gun had been confiscated from a "distressed friend," stashed in the bag and forgotten, yet the grand jury claims that Pablo was well aware that he had a "concealed dangerous weapon that was and would have been accessible to him in flight."
Pablo is charged with possession of a firearm by a felon, possession of a stolen firearm and attempting to take a gun onto an airplane.
