Rae Sremmurd's "Black Beatles" has been one of the year's most talked-about singles and the song has provided the backdrop for the current #MannequinChallenge craze that's become a viral sensation over the past couple of weeks. Everyone from college kids to Jerry Jones to a group of Miami strippers have gotten in on the fun--and one high-profile celeb just added his name to the growing list of #MannequinChallenge participants.

Paul McCartney got Twitter buzzing after he posted a video of himself participating in the "Black Beatles" #MannequinChallenge and gave a shout-out to the song.

"Love those Black Beatles #MannequinChallenge," he tweeted along with the video clip of him standing perfectly still at a piano.

McCartney has an interesting history with hip-hop; having collaborated with Kanye West on records and he performed with Jay Z during a Coretta Scott King tribute at the Grammys back in 2006. And who could forget that the ex-Beatle was famously denied entry when he tried to hang out at a Tyga and Bow Wow post-Grammy party earlier this year.

But on the musical side, he's been a pretty consistently sampled artist over the years.

  • "Simply"

    De La Soul

De La's 2002 dedication to having a good time flips McCartney's famously cheery Christmas ode "Wonderful Christmastime" into a banger for a Friday night and hanging with ya peeps. One of the corniest Christmas songs in contemporary music gets a much-needed makeover courtesy of Long Island's finest.

  • "Ho Is Short For Honey"

    88 Keys

Kid Cudi shows up for this cheeky romp from 88 Keys 2009 concept album The Death of Adam. It's a song about promiscuity and STDs--which features a sample of "Mrs. Vandebilt," from McCartney and Wings' acclaimed 1973 album Band On the Run.

  • "Gone Baby, Don't Be Long"

    Erykah Badu

Mz. Badu famously tracked Macca down via Twitter (with some help from Lenny Kravitz) to get the sample cleared for this standout single from her New Amerykah, Pt. 2: Return of the Ankh album. The song flips McCartney's "Arrow Through Me" from the 1979 Wings album Back To the Egg.

  • "Darkside / Gone"

    Dr. Dre

This "Gone" half of this moody banger from Dr. Dre's Compton album features a stellar Kendrick Lamar appearance and a ghostly hook from Marsha Ambrosius and the backdrop is built on a clever sample and interpolation of "Spirits of Ancient Egypt," a 1976 album cut from McCartney and Wings.

  • "The Fire"

    The Roots

One of the standout tracks on The Roots immaculate How I Got Over album, it's a dark and moody banger that's boosted by a winning John Legend hook. And the drums are sampled from McCartney's "Momma Miss America," from his 1970 solo debut, McCartney.
