Rae Sremmurd is getting animated in a new comic book for Valiant Entertainment. As we previously reported, the rap duo will appeared in Shadowman/Rae Sremmurd #1, a new series from the publishing company.

According to Hypebeast, the first issue stars Slim Jxmmi and Swae Lee who makes a tour stop in New Orleans where they find themselves confronting supernatural beings from the Deadside. This will also introduce them to Jack Boniface (aka Shadowman), a possessed New Orleans musician-turned superhero who helps them battle the Deadside.

“Shadowman is crazy. It has a lot of twists and turns,” said Jxmmi about the series. “It keeps me involved and interested. I can’t even take my eyes off of Shadowman when I read it. I have to finish the book.”

This will be Rae Sremmurd’s second comic book appearance after their debut on Marvel Comics' 2014 Captain America issue. The duo follows a long line of rappers jumping into the comic book genre including, Run-DMC, KRS-One, Ghostface Killah, Eminem and more.

The Shadowman/Rae Sremmurd #1, which arrives in stores on Oct. 4, is written by Eliot Rahal with artwork created by Renato Guedes. Hypebeast posted a few interior art designs from the comic book on their website. You can see some of the images above and below.

In the meantime, you can hear Rae Sremmurd's vocals on ILoveMakonnen's new rock-infused song, "Love."
