Nick Cannon and Mariah Carey have obviously moved on with their lives since their 2014 divorce, but Cannon is denying claims that they can't officially put the past behind them because he's suddenly begun reminiscing about the good ol' days.

Last week, TMZ reported that Cannon was dragging his feet on finalizing their divorce. The claim was that Mariah has been trying unsuccessfully to get Nick to sign off on the divorce for more than a year, but he "just won't do it and won't say why."

But Cannon says that no one is holding up anything. He's happy for his ex and they both just want to keep things as cordial as possible for the children. In an interview with Extra, he denied any hold up.

"We get along great regardless to whatever rumors or whatever [is] out there. There's nothing to tell," Cannon told AJ Calloway. "Me and Mariah get along great, and it's a process, nobody is holding nothing up."

Since their divorce, Cannon has had to put out media fires; there were claims earlier this year that his song "Oh Well" is directed at Carey. He reiterated that the media tends to want to create drama where there is none.

"The media has problem with sensationalism," he continued. "Why would I hold it up? I want her to be happy. She is such a beautiful spirit, and we put the kids first."

Cannon is still doing his thing and enjoying himself. He revealed last week that he plans to host a rap battle on his series Wild N’ Out and he issued an invite to his former foe Eminem to stop by the BET show and take part. Meanwhile, Mariah got engaged to billionaire James Packer this past January and there have been rumblings of a collaboration with Beyonce.

Let these two live.
