New Music Releases – July 2015
We're about to bid farewell to June and with six months of the year behind us, we've already seen some standout projects from Tyler The Creator, Kendrick Lamar, Big Sean and Drake -- and that's not even all of the huge releases. There's also plenty more expected for the second half of the year.
While there is still more heat to come, it's not all dropping in July. However, there are some solid albums to look out, which means we should be set when it comes to songs of the summer. Plus, the slate of upcoming albums aren't that bad. You have your genre legends and you have Pitbull.
Migos is definitely, irrefutably in the former category. Offset is still in jail, but
Y.R.N.: Tha Album is still dropping in its Versace-flaunting glory. "One Time" hasn't really popped (yet?), but Migos' previous projects had plenty of potential hits. The debut album shouldn't be that different. Y.R.N. is scheduled to drop on July 31.
Lil Wayne and Birdman still haven't made up, so the Free Weezy Album is still coming. It's not Tha Carter V, but it hopefully is better than Sorry 4 the Wait 2. The anticipation for the Free Weezy Album isn't made up of blind hope, though. He's been knocking his recent guest verses out of the park. Don't believe the slander -- Weezy isn't washed. The MC's Free Weezy Album arrives July 4.
Other albums to look forward to include another Public Enemy LP, a Hopsin effort and some new material from The-Dream and Jill Scott. Things are also looking up for R&B. Hip-hop will still remain hot. July will be lit. Let's look at the upcoming releases below.
