N.E.R.D and Future Drop Powerful Video for ‘1000’ [WATCH]
N.E.R.D’s latest single, “1000” (featuring Future), is a boisterous anthem, and the song’s accompanying video is equally riotous, with its imagery of anarchy, protest and defiant behavior throughout.
Directed by Todd Tourso and Scott Cudmore, the visual features violent protests and people fighting against white supremacists before it segues into everyone's favorite dancer, Mette Towley, performing a visually-stunning dance sequence dubbed “Tutorial No. 2 .” She performs a high-stepping solo routine before leading a troop of men in a fist-raising, foot-stomping “Fight the Power”-influenced dance performance at the end of the clip.
There’s also empowering soundbites from Mike Tyson about his mental state before and after he enters in the boxing ring and Jello Biafra (of the legendary punk band the Dead Kennedys) trading words with Nazi sympathizers at his show.
Overall, N.E.R.D delivers a powerful video ahead of their Dec. 15 project, No_Ever Really Dies. The collection boast cameos from Ed Sheeran, Andre 3000, Kendrick Lamar, Rihanna Gucci Mane and Wale.
