A colossal congrats goes out to Murs, who just broke the Guinness World Record for rhyming 24-hours straight. He was allowed a five minute break each hour--but that certainly doesn't take away from his incredible feat.

During the rap marathon, the Los Angeles spitter freestyled, delivered his own rhymes and performed other people's songs like A Tribe Called Quest's "Bonita Applebum" and Wu-Tang Clan's "C.R.E.A.M."

All along, there were people from the Guinness World Records committee who watched Murs spit the entire time, just to make sure he followed all the necessary rules. Quite shockingly, he began delivering rhymes on Wednesday morning (October 12) and went all the way until today (October 13).

During the attempt, some from the hip-hop community congratulated the Have a Nice Life rapper and acknowledged what he was doing.

"The homey @murs is on his 19th hour of 24 hour world record attempt for longest rap session," wrote Lupe Fiasco. "Holy s---. @murs is rapping for 26 hours straight right now," Atmosphere tweeted.
