Congratulations! It's a boy and a girl for Mariah Carey and her husband Nick Cannon.

Carey gave birth to twins at an undisclosed Los Angeles hospital on Saturday (April 30). According to the pop singer's publicist, Cindi Berger, she went into labor on at 12:07PM EST. The baby girl weighed in at 5 pounds, 3 ounces, and was 18 inches long, and her brother followed at 5 pounds 6 ounces, and 19 inches. The couple have not announced the names of the twins yet.

"My wife just gave me the most incredible anniversary gift ever in life! I won't ever be able to top this!" Cannon tweeted.

These are the first children for Carey and her hubby of two years. The couple wed in April 2008, and continue to renew their vows annually. The fanfare leading up to the birth of "dem babies" -- how Carey has been referring to the twins via her website and Twitter the past few months -- has included bi-coastal nurseries, nude photos of Carey pregnant and even a baby "first outfit" contest, where her fans get to decide the twins' first fashion statement.

"Being a mother is probably the hardest job in the world. I feel like, in a lot of ways, children come into the world to teach us," Carey told Life & Style. "It's going to be a delicate balance between raising them around glitz and glamour and keeping them grounded. One thing I'm sure of is that I'll be grateful for the twins every day, no matter what."
