Mac Miller's reality show Mac Miller and the Most Dope Family airs tonight at 11:30 PM on MTV2, but according to the Pittsburgh-bred MC the idea of doing a reality show in the first place wasn't an idea he was initially that keen on.

"I was skeptical about doing a TV show because I don't wanna be 'the guy from the TV show' - I'm an artist and I wanna make music," Mac tells MTV News. "I wasn't excited until [recently], because the whole time I'm thinking, 'Man, this show's gonna suck. It's me - what do people wanna look at me for? This isn't exciting, I'm not Kanye West, I'm Mac Miller; it's just me and the homeys.'"

He said he was sold on the show after he saw what it looked like.

"It was kinda tight 'cause it looks so MTV-y," he explained. "It looks like an MTV show, so to see my life in that formula was kind of weird but it's gonna be tight."

The show will follow Mac and four of his friends from the Most Dope crew over the course of six episodes, as they try to work on Mac's sophomore LP Watching Movies With the Sound Off.

Sounds interesting. Will you be watching tonight?
