We can now officially add Lupe Fiasco to the list of rappers so inspired by Kendrick Lamar's 'Control' verse that they felt the need to respond with some bars of their own. For the Chicago rapper, it arrives on a new track titled 'SLR 2.'

Fiasco sounds hungrier and more inspired than he has in a minute on 'SLR 2,' which features a threatening backdrop of piano keys and sputtering hi-hats. It's a fitting instrumental choice given the bravado-heavy bars and verbal darts aimed squarely at Lamar.

The Windy City MC's lyrics take the stance of an elder statesman of hip-hop looking down at these 'new n---as' and laughing at how they're trying to rap like 2pac, Lil Wayne, and 2 Chainz. Fiasco also notes that "We all heard what he said/ But what he said means we dead/ And that s--t is insane!" He then calls Lamar a "little baby" and says he'll never be Nas or Jay Z. Oof.
