Lil Yachty may have not finished college, but the Teenage Emotions rapper still has love for college students.

On Monday (Oct. 9), Lil Boat made a surprise appearance during a Georgia State University music journalism class. Appearing with his father, photographer Shannon McCollum, the rapper and his dad fielded questions from the students.

As expected, many students were excited to see the rapper on campus, and the university also praised Yachty for his visit.

"So.. @lilyachty just dropped in on our Music Journalism course! Kudos to @Journalistorian for always doing cool things for our students," the GSU communication department tweeted about professor Christopher Daniel's class.

The Day 1 Radio podcast, consisting of veteran journalists Branden J. Peters and Maurice Garland, also posted about the appearance on Instagram.

"Had a great time today speaking to Prof Daniel's music journalism class at @georgiastateuniversity with world renowned photographer @shannonmccollum and his son Miles aka @lilyachty . The convo was raw and on point. Hope the students soaked up all the life game."

Lil Yachty has been open about his time in college, revealing he dropped out of school to pursue rap. "I dropped out of college at Alabama State in September or October [2015], and I said I was going to pursue [rapping]," he told Complex.
