Lil Wayne’s ‘Prom Queen’ Hits the ‘Net
Just when we thought we couldn't take anymore of Lil Wayne crying rhyming over hip-hop beats, the New Orleans rapper decided he'd switch it up and go the rock route. We can't say we didn't see it coming.
Wayne appeared to be having a blast when he hopped onstage at the BET Hip-Hop Awards during N.E.R.D.'s performance of 'Spazz.' The rapper has also shared the stage with Kid Rock at the MTV Video Music Awards and was featured on guitarist Kevin Rudolf's hit 'Let It Rock.'
Now, Wayne is ready to dive right into the rock world. He's releasing the all-rock album, 'Rebirth,' on April 7 and the project's first single, 'Prom Queen,' is already making its rounds on the 'net and radio.
"I loved her fancy underwear, I sit behind her every year," Weezy sings on the track. "Waiting for the chance to get to tell her I'm the one she should be with." Kudos to Wayne for making a completely authentic rock record.
