Lil Wayne’s Assistant Says He ‘Occasionally’ Saw Drugs, Gun on Tour Bus
Things are getting sticky for Lil Wayne. An assistant took the stand during Wayne's gun possession trial on Monday and testified that he "occasionally" saw a handgun and people smoking marijuana on the rapper's tour bus. But assistant, Terry Bourgeois, didn't completely through Wayne under the bus -- no pun intended.
According to the Associated Press, Bourgeois went on to testify that he never saw Lil Wayne with a gun and was not sure if there was a weapon on the bus when Wayne and co. were pulled over July 2007 in New York.
A police officer testified last month that she boarded the bus after smelling marijuana and claimed she witnessed Wayne attempting to hide a gun. The multi-platinum selling rapper's lawyer has asked for the charges to be dismissed, and claims the officer used the alleged marijuana scent to illegally board and eventually search the bus.
Wayne has pleaded not guilty to the charges and is free on $70,000 bail. He faces up to three and a half years in prison if convicted in the case.
