Lil Wayne Releases His Highly-Anticipated Prison Memoir ‘Gone ‘Til November’
Jail isn't a place for anyone. So when Wayne found himself in the middle of Rikers Island for eight months, he definitely wasn't enamored with the idea of hanging out with some of jail's biggest criminals.
In Wayne's newest memoir Gone 'Til November, he touches on different experiences ranging from having some of his celebrity buddies like Kanye West, Drake, and Chris Paul visiting him in jail to him hanging up wedding decorations in the prison yard. "Imagine seeing grown-ass men in jail hanging tissue for wedding decorations. AND one of them is Lil Wayne. Crazy.” Also, Wayne speaks highly on the "liquid gold' that is Gatorade.
"Gatorade is liquid gold in this b----," he writes. In one section, Wayne goes into detail about the time Drake came to visit him and explained how he slept with his then-girlfriend.
“Finding out that she [expletive] Drake was the absolute worst thing I could have found out,” he writes. "Drizzy came to see me, he was like, ‘Yeah, it’s true’. Damn! This is the type of [expletive] a man never wants to find out while he is locked up.”
On the flip-side, Wayne did tap into a new world of creativity while spending time in Rikers. “I always thought I needed things like being high with my n—-s, a Bugatti, a dope-ass crib or some big-booty bitches to be creative,” he writes. “But once it was taken away from me, my creativity was put to the ultimate test.”
