Lil Wayne Loses Court Battle, Owes Filmmaker Over $2 Million
Looks like Lil Wayne's recent deposition shenanigans have cost him a few thousand stacks.
Back in September, the "I Am Not a Human Being" MC appeared in a filmed deposition as part of a lawsuit against Quincy Jones' son, Quincy Jones III (QD3), whom he was suing for unlawfully using his music in The Carter, a documentary about his life.
In the video deposition, Wayne appears overly comfortable, cracking wise and threatening a defense attorney, but when a pair of seizure-like incidents caused him to miss a scheduled court date, he suddenly became the butt of his own joke.
TMZ reports that his failure to show forced his attorney to show his mockery of a video deposition at his hearing. As a result, Wayne has apparently not only lost his suit against QDIII, but the filmmaker also won his countersuit, finding Weezy responsible for $2,195,000 in restitution, for blocking the release of the film.
