So far, 2015 has been a bumpy year for Lil Wayne. With numerous hindrances in his music career including verbal skirmishes with Young Thug and his ongoing label dispute with Cash Money, Wayne has been itching to drop some new music. Now, it appears that day will finally come as he will release his Free Weezy Album this summer.

That's right, Wayne will be set free from proverbial chains of hell on Independence Day when he releases his new LP. During his performance at the Heat Ultra Lounge in Anaheim, Calif. earlier this week, he dropped the surprising news by unveiling the date for his highly anticipated effort. "My name is Tunechi, like I said I got a new album coming out. It's called FWA. It'll be out Fourth of July," the rapper revealed.

This is big for Wayne fans considering that this project will mark his first official album in over two years. His last album came in 2013, when he released I Am Not a Human Being 2.

Despite Tha Carter V being held captive by Cash Money, Wayne has been keeping busy. He just recently announced that he is now a co-owner of Jay Z's streaming company TIDAL. In addition, he released his lyrically-charged single, "Glory," a few weeks back.

Are you excited for Wayne's new album? This is certainly not Tha Carter V, but this will definitely suffice. July 4 can't come fast enough.
