UPDATE: Looks like the above photo of Lil Wayne might just be an optical illusion. Entertainment journalist Kelley L. Carter tells The Boombox exclusively, "Lil Wayne didn't cut those iconic dreadlocks. He had them pulled back in some sort of bun, with a few strands hanging down his back. I can see why people thought he cut them off ... The pictures certainly make it look that way. But his hair is still all there."

Carter even snapped a photo of Weezy's dreads, still intact while at the Madden Super Bowl party in New Orleans -- see it here.

Original Story Below

Lil Wayne and Big Boi are hanging out in New Orleans to celebrate the Super Bowl match up between the San Francisco 49ers and the Baltimore Ravens. But one thing is seemingly different about Weezy in the above photo -- where's his hair at?!

As Complex reports, this is not Photoshop -- it's the 'Lollipop' rapper's real hair, rendered dreadless but some sharp shears.

Big Boi was probably surprised by his friend's new do, so he posted it to Instagram late last night, shocking fans all over the rap world.

After their combined crews had an evening out in the Big Easy, they all went to grab an early morning breakfast at Waffle House. All is well in hip-hop. All is well.
