On Friday (Nov. 18), Lil Wayne returned to his native New Orleans to participate in Cash Money's annual Thanksgiving tradition -- handing out turkeys in the neighborhoods that raised him and his team.

"It's actually been my first time back here for the past eight or nine years, and they've been doing this for 15 years," Lil Wayne revealed to MTV. "I haven't been back here to do this for so long just being super busy, just always on tour."

Although the Cash Money family currently reside in Miami, they've made a point of returning to the 'hood for the holidays every year, and this year, Weezy was happy to be able to participate.

"Those times I did it years ago, I was just a kid and I was just doing it because Baby and Slim, we were giving away turkeys at a park and that's what we were doin'," Wayne explained. "Now it's a totally different feeling, because I can actually give you that and say, 'Here, happy Thanksgiving.' I can do that, and I can provide that for you. That's a different feeling in general, and it's a beautiful feeling overall."

Typically taciturn Cash Money co-founder Ronald "Slim" Williams concurred with Weezy's sentiments regarding their holiday charity.

"God blessed people to bless other people," Slim said. "It makes it so special for us to come back home and see a smile on people's face after they received their turkeys and all the other items that go with it. So it's real big and real special for us."

Hot on the heels of Nicki Minaj's surprise AMA win, and the release of Drake's sophomore smash 'Take Care,' Lil Wayne's Young Money crew has also announced their newest addition -- 14-year-old singer-dancer Torion Sellers. Check out Wayne's PSA regarding the signing here.
