Leslie Jones Makes Glorious Return to Twitter After Cyberattack: ‘I Always Get Back Up’
Leslie Jones is back on social media after enduring racist comments on Twitter and a cyberattack in August. Over the weekend, the Ghostbusters star went on her Twitter account to formally announce that she’s back.
In one video tweet, she professed her love for The Golden Girls television series. “I don’t care what nobody say, these bitches make me laugh no matter what the hell is going on, for real,” she said in the clip.
The 48-year-old comedian may have been referencing her cyberattack in August where a hacker published naked photos of her, as well as her passport and driver's license information. Since then, Jones remained silent on her social media accounts until now.
Jones then addressed her fans directly and reassured them that she's fine and that her comedic spirit is still intact.
"Thanks to my fans and friends! I'm soooooo ok really. And I will always be funny been through a lot in my life and I ALWAYS GET BACK UP!" she tweeted.
Jones also reminded her fans that her 49th birthday is coming up and that she plans on celebrating for the entire week. Just so you know, the Saturday Night Live alum's B-Day is officially on Wednesday (Sept. 7).
"So let's make my birthday week THE BOMB!! Cause I'm about to act a fool YALL!! CHEAH! #LJBDAY," she wrote.
It good to see Lesile Jones back on Twitter and we are glad that she's happy and laughing.
