Lauryn Hill fans will be happy to know that the singer is working on new music and may be prepping a new album. According to producer and friend, Dana Rivera, who co-wrote Hill's recently leaked track 'Repercussions,' the former Fugee is back in the studio.

Rivera started by refuting claims 'Repercussions' was a demo track meant for Hill's 1998 successful debut solo album, 'The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill.' "No, this is not an out take from 'The Miseducation' album, it is a work in progress," he told TheYbf.com. "Lauryn's ability to move from smooth vocals to rippin a rap verse is necessary to make 'Repercussions' complete." Rivera however fell short of confirming or denying whether Hill's new music is for a new album.

Speculation behind whether or not the 35-year-old is prepping an album release boiled over when she began doing spot performances in the last few months. The typically reclusive star also signed on for this year's Rock the Bells tour, giving fans hope that a new album may be on its way. If in fact Hill decides to drop new music, she will have some large shoes to refill. Her debut sold eight million copies in the U.S. alone, and garnered the songstress a whopping 10 Grammy nods, five of which she won, making her the first female solo artist to receive such a large number of nominations. Despite being released more than 10 years ago, fans still relate to the disc, which even has its own Facebook fan page.
