Keyshia Cole wants everyone to know that her biological mother, Frankie Lons, is not dead. Contrary to the rumors that hit the net stating that Frankie was in a tragic car accident, Cole is proud to announce that her mother is alive and well.

"The rumor has absolutely no truth to it -- Frankie has not been in any accident of any kind and is doing well at home in Atlanta," Cole said in a statement released by her label Interscope records. "We want to thank all of Frankie's fans for their support."

Cole's mother who is featured on her hit reality show 'Keyshia Cole: The Way It Is,' is undoubtedly the most colorful character on the show. Lons is a recovering drug addict and moved to Atlanta with Cole after being released from prison. Cole, who was adopted by another family as a child, has been candid about her once strained relationship with her mother. Now in its third season, the show chronicles the ups and downs of their family life while living in Atlanta.

In the last three years, Cole has released three albums, the latter of which is 'A Different Me' hit stores last December. Her new album is quickly inching towards platinum status much faster than her two previous efforts and features the hit single 'You Complete Me.'
