Jay-Z YouTube Upfront Performance: Rapper Rhymes ‘Empire State of Mind’

Jay-Z surprised those seated inside Beacon Theatre Wednesday night (May 2) in New York City when the rapper graced the stage to perform as part of YouTube's Upfront presentation.

The Brooklyn rhymer brought the event to a close, performing his hit "Empire State of Mind" for the crowd.

Dressed in a black blazer, gold chains and a Brooklyn Nets fitted cap, Hov's presence was fitting, considering his brand Life + Times has a channel on the YouTube platform, which will spend $200 million to promote "premium" content.

Flo Rida and hip-hop violinist Miri Ben-Ari also performed.
