JAY-Z’s ‘4:44′ Inspires Financial Advice Book
JAY-Z's most recent album 4:44 wasn't only hailed because he allowed himself to be so vulnerable throughout the project, but because of its financial insight.
The album is a testament to black power on more than one front—most notably, financially. The message of buying black, black financial empowerment and wealth-building is weaved throughout the entire project, from "The Story of O.J." to "Legacy" and even "Family Feud." "What's better than one billionaire? Two. Especially when they from the same hue as you," Jay famously asks on the record.
Now, that message has been compiled and turned into a book designed to "teach African-Americans how to manage money more effectively and how to build generational wealth."
Ash Exantus, an author and financial expert has written a new book, The Wake Up Call: Financial Inspiration Learned from 4:44 + A Step by Step Guide on How to Implement Each Financial Principle, which aims to expound upon the ideas that JAY shares on the project.
"JAY was giving so much knowledge about how you can become financially free… as an individual, as well as how we [as a culture] can break the cycle of poverty in our community," Exantus told HipHopDX. "JAY gave us the 'what.' My goal with the book was to give the 'how.'"
