Another one of Atlanta's own is celebrating a birthday. Rapper Cash Out, whose real name is John-Michael Hakim Gibson, turns 25 years old today (Aug. 15).

Originally from Columbus, Ga., Cash Out gave rapping a shot after catching a break when he was acquitted of a 2009 gun charge. Cash Out made "Cashin' Out" when he was signed to the independent label Bases Loaded, and L.A. Reid signed him to Epic upon hearing the song. It turned out Reid called this one right. "Cashin' Out" became a club hit in 2012, peaking at No. 36 on the Billboard music chart.

Cash Out had another minor hit with "She Twerkin," but this was after he left Epic and signed with eOne Music. He also finally dropped Let's Get It in 2014, which struggled in sales despite the warm reviews.

But Cash Out remains undeterred. He dropped his latest mixtape, Kitchens & Choppas 2, earlier this month.
