'Red Bull Big Tune,' a national competition that pits producers against one another in sound matches for ultimate beat supremacy, had a big prize for 2009's winner Frank Dukes: a collaboration with Wu-Tang member Ghostface Killah. No small feat, Frank recently hit the studio with the mysterious Ghostdeini to reap the fruits of his labor. The duo came up with a new track entitled 'Purified Thoughts.'

The song shows Dukes' savvy work through a beat that's perfectly crafted to Ghost's hard style. Featuring horn hits and a galloping, militaristic drum break, our favorite Ironman demonstrates that his impressive consistency on the mic remains intact as we enter another decade. What's particularly refreshing about the collaboration between Dukes and Ghost is that they clearly created the song in the studio together. That's an increasingly rare instance these days, especially for a scenario that matches a legendary MC with the winner of a contest.

"I've been a fan of him for as long as I can remember," explained Dukes. "Ghost has been putting it down for 15-plus years. He's still relevant. His music has evolved over the years. For Ghost, it's like he gets better with age. You know if you buy a Ghost CD, there's gonna be a certain level of quality that you can expect. That's what I'm trying to do as a producer."

"Dukes is on," Ghost responded. "He's like a new guy, but he's a throwback... On his tracks, you just gotta have your knife out."

Give the new track a spin over here and below. Ghostface Killah's upcoming 'Apollo Kids' LP is still slated for a Dec. 14 release.
