Gary Clark Jr. Wins Best Traditional R&B Performance at 2014 Grammy Awards
Guitarist Gary Clark Jr., won a Grammy award for Best Traditional R&B Performance for his song 'Please Come Home,' from his album, 'Blak and Blu,' on Sunday night (Jan. 26).
The soul man is the first artist to ever be nominated for both Best Rock Song ('Ain’t Messin 'Round') and Best Traditional R&B Performance ('Please Come Home') in the same year.
The 29-year-old musician beat out some heavy-hitters in the category. Fantasia ('Get It Right'), Maysa ('Quiet Fire'), Gregory Porter ('Hey Laura') and Ryan Shaw ('Yesterday') were all vying for the trophy.
Gary Clark Jr., also showed off his supreme guitar skills during an exciting duet performance of 'Cop Car' with country star Keith Urban. The Texas native’s virtuosity on the guitar was amazing.
We must also mention that Gary Clark Jr., was holding another beautiful trophy of the evening -- his statuesque girlfriend, Victoria Secret's model Nicole Trunfio. The 27-year-old beauty was wearing a sparkling silver dress that revealed a little cleavage. Wowsers!
Congratulations to Gary Clark Jr., on his Grammy win.
