Check out the top 5 moments from SXSW below.
1. Lil Wayne taunts Birdman (again) during his Mass Appeal set.
Weezy took the stage as the final headliner for this year's Mass Appeal event at SXSW, where he performed a slew of his long list of hits. Following his performance of "Steady Mobbin'," the New Orleans rapper got some things off of his chest regarding his ongoing legal battle with Cash Money CEO, Birdman. Wayne called his former friend "bulls---- ass Birdman," before expressing his disdain for Birdman's lack of loyalty. "And in all honesty, I know y’all do know I am going through some bulls--- with my muthaf---in’ career and n----s is trying to steal my career without letting me do or say a damn thing. But it’s moments like this that make that bulls---- this big to me, and I appreciate it.”
The Roots bring out a star-studded lineup of surprise guests.
As they tend to do for their live sets, The Roots brought out a slew of special guests for attendees of their Roots & Friends jam event. Not only did they have some new big names like Rae Sremmurd hit the stage, but they also brought out some veterans to shut the stage down, which included T.I. and Brandy, who performed their fan favorite hits as medleys.
Solange takes us on a spiritual journey.
Solange hit up Youtube's event early last week as the headlining performance, and she gave fans a taste of their favorites from her award-winning album, A Seat At the Table, including "Don't Touch My Hair" and "Cranes In The Sky."
2 Chainz, Cardi B, and Young M.A. shut down the Fader Fort.
2 Chainz might be heavy at work on his own projects, but he found time to headline at Fader Fort this year. After both Cardi B and Young M.A. set the tone for an amped up crowd, Tity Boi made his way to the stage to perform all of his hits, which set the venue off.
Christian Combs, The Lox, and Ma$e honor Biggie.
It seems like there was a mini-Bad Boy reunion at SXSW this year, as The Lox, Ma$e, and Diddy's son, Christian Combs, who is a spitting image of his father, came together for performances. They also gave a dope tribute for the 20th anniversary of the Notorious B.I.G.'s death, and spoke with Revolt about what the late rapper meant to them and their own careers.
