Faith Evans had a rough weekend. Adding to her rap sheet, the Grammy-winning R&B singer was arrested and charged on suspicion of a DUI on Saturday night following a routine stop at an alcohol-monitoring checkpoint in the Marina del Ray section of Los Angeles. After her car was impounded, the 37-year-old was arrested and held for several hours, and was released on bail the following morning.

"I'm sure by now most of you heard that I was detained on suspicion of DUI,' she tweeted from the set of her new single 'Gone Already.' "After completing a full day of wardrobe prep I was stopped at a random checkpoint. I'm fine and well, and thank you for your prayers, kind words and concerns. I can't wait for you all to see my new video & look forward to hearing from you guys."

Evans has a checkered past with substance-related arrests. In January 2004, the California resident and her record exec husband Todd Russaw were arrested and charged in Atlanta after cops discovered cocaine and marijuana on her person during a routine stop. The couple spent 13 weeks in a drug-treatment program, an experience that she details on her 2005 single, 'Again.'

Following five years of relative silence, Evans is currently promoting the release of her sixth studio album 'Something About Faith.' The effort is her E1 Entertainment debut, and has spawned the single 'Gone Already' and the Snoop Dogg-assisted 'Way You Move.' The LP is currently scheduled for an October 5 release.
