Drake's 8th annual OVO Fest was full of star-studded surprises but perhaps the biggest one came when he brought out fellow Canadian superstar, The Weeknd, to join him on stage.

The Weeknd ran through a few hits including “Starboy,” “The Hills,” and “Crew Love,” his 2011 collaborative track with Drake. But maybe the biggest news came when Drake started talking to the crowd. As was previously reported, he said that he's working on a new album but what really got the crowd in a frenzy is when he said that a joint album between him and The Weeknd "has to happen."

“I want you to understand what this is,” Drake told The Weeknd. “First of all, I don’t want to do this to you on stage, but I feel like that OVOXO project has to happen at some point. I just want to say that.”

Of course, Drake played a big role in introducing The Weeknd to the world, and the singer has credits on his album Take Care. The Weeknd has previously said that he's down to do a joint project with Drizzy.

“It’s cool to have both monsters work together as opposed to one monster and one little guy coming in... It’s dope, like Kanye and Jay Z when [Watch the Throne] happened," The Weeknd said in a 2016 interview with Zane Lowe about the possibility of a collaborate project.

Needless to say, if this actually happens, it'd huge, as Drake and The Weeknd had two of the biggest albums released in the past year with Drake's Views (and More Life) and The Weeknd's Starboy.
