Drake has already learned that sometimes the best way to make a pop hit is to actually go outside the box and embrace the unexpected. For his most recent trick, the rapping heartthrob has announced that he is working on a track with evocative vocalist Florence Welch.

Apparently, Drake met Welch at the 2010 Video Music Awards where they both performed. Drake pulled out his tux for a classy version of 'Fancy' during the broadcast, and hung out with Welch backstage. The two have been in contact since then.

Last Friday night, Welsh attended a Drake show at the Hammersmith Apollo in London and enjoyed the set so much that she joined Drizzy on stage the next night for a rendition of 'Fireworks.' After that gig, Drake passed-on that he has been working with Welsh on a new, untitled track that could either work on his upcoming record or the follow-up to Welch's Florence and the Machine's debut, 'Lungs.'

Both artists are up for a 2011 Grammy Award for Best New Artist. Until then, Drake will continue on his Light Dreams and Nightmares tour along with Jay-Z protégé J Cole.
