Drake Jacket: Rapper Sells $4,900 Buffalo Leather in US
Drake is taking his brand into the world of fashion with hopes to keep his fans warm this winter. The rapper has debuted a limited edition luxury jacket collaboration between his October's Very Own empire and Canada Goose.
The BoomBox spoke with a representative at New York City retailer Nepenthes, where the coat is being sold. Tagged as an OVO x Canada Goose Chilliwack jacket, the product retails for $4,900 in the U.S. and is only available at the New York City location today (Dec. 28).
However, starting Thursday (Dec. 29), those looking to get their hands on the expensive outerwear will have to hit the store's online destination, as in-store sales will cease at the close of business Wednesday. Only U.S. buyers will be supplied with a coat through the online site.
Perhaps what makes the onyx-colored parka so pricey is its buffalo leather exterior, 24-karat gold plated hardware, silk-lined interior -- with the OVO owl motif -- and hood with removable fox fur trim. This is one jacket that isn't PETA-friendly.
For interested supporters outside of the U.S. searching for the Young Money MC's new coat, Nepenthes has locations in Osaka and Tokyo, Japan. Canadian menswear retailer Nomad, in Toronto, is also selling the extravagant piece.
