DJ Quik Puts YG on Blast for Not Giving Him Credit on ‘My N—-‘
Early this morning (Aug. 8) DJ Quik went on Twitter to share his frustration with fellow Compton rapper YG for not giving him engineering and recording credit on "My N-gga," saying that his lawyers are ready to get involved if necessary.
"[Stampede Management] y’all had me engineer and record ‘My N-gga’ for [YG] and did not give me credit," he wrote, adding that his lawyer has the company in his sights. "You've f-cked up."
In addition to YG, Stampede Management also manages Snoop Dogg, which Quik pointed out after telling YG to "be safe on the block I invented" in another tweet. The legendary producer also wants engineering credits for YG's "My Hitta" featuring Jeezy and Rich Homie Quan, and directed a couple of tweets Jeezy's way, telling him, YG and Stampede, "shoot me my platinum plaque to: DJ Quik."
"There's some fugazi on the west with my plaque for "My Hitta." My wall is missing an Award," Quik wrote.
As AllHipHop points out, this isn't the first time Quik has taken issue with artists who he feels haven't given him his just due. He's had words for Kanye West taking credit for bringing back El Debarge (he also had a strong opinion about 'Ye's Life of Pablo).
Let's hope the issue can get resolved quickly, with a minimum of drama. Check Quik's tweets below.
