DJ Premier Releases Rare Mobb Deep Song ‘Cop Hell’ [LISTEN]
As the hip-hop community continues to mourn the death of one of its most notable figures, Prodigy of Mobb Deep, DJ Premier has released a rare track from the group, "Cop Hell."
The gritty track matches the title, as Havoc and P rap about the realities of dealing with dirty police.
“I’m sendin’ cops to Cop Hell (yeah) with gasoline draws/F--- ya boots and ya bulls---- thoughts/I couldn’t give a f---- about ya petty annie/I’mma vigilante who stalk every n---- granny/I’mma put all the cops will they take what I got/But when they try, they gonna get bucked in the motherf---ing head,” raps Havoc.
The song was originally released for a short period back in 1992, as the B-side to Gang Starr’s “Doe In Advance” and was going to appear on the group's debut album, Juvenile Hell, but the song was pulled by Mobb Deep's label at the time because of the controversy that followed a similar record, Ice T's "Cop Killer."
