Lin Manuel-Miranda has just dropped a previously unreleased, Hamilton-themed Mobb Deep track, "Boom Goes the Cannon." The song is part of the June installment of his year-long Hamildrops series, and comes near the one-year anniversary of Prodigy's death, who died on June 20, 2017.

"Rest in peace, Prodigy. Thank you Havoc," Miranda tweeted yesterday (June 17), when he unveiled the tack.

Miranda has previously cited Mobb Deep as a major inspiration for his lyrics in Hamilton. The musical's "My Shoot," is a direct ode to Prodigy's "Shook Ones Part 2" lyrics when he raps, "I'm only 19 but my mind is old." In the musical, Hamilton says, "only nineteen but my mind is older."

It's unclear when "Boom Goes the Cannon," which borrows from the lyrics of Hamilton's "Right Hand Man," was recorded.

"There's 32,000 troops in New York harbor. We outgunned, outmanned, and outnumbered," the rap says. "We a powder keg about to explode / Wish we had a man like Hamilton to lighten the load."

In addition to this track, there's more music from Mobb Deep on the horizon. In March, Havoc told MSNBC he's working in conjunction Prodigy's family to create a new album, which should arrive before the end of the year.
